checking if and egg is fertile

If you hang a needle by a piece of string over an egg that is fertile (by sound) and it swings north to south it's a boy. If it swings east to west it's a girl.

I'm not sure what it means if it swings south to north or west to east however.

You can tell if its fertile by holding it over a pan of boiling water and letting it go.

If it floats 2" above the water its fertile.

If it drops into the water its a boiled egg.
