Yes busy is a good word for it, but it's been a lot of fun and good for a lot of laughs with the kids. When the fox first showed up in our yard my daughter saw it and was running through the house shouting "Hyena, Hyena!"
. She was only six at the time, and it was a mangy looking fox! The chickens actually got pretty good at evasion tactics and would either run up on the porch or fly up into the trees.
I've now met all of my neighbors within a half mile radius as they have all stopped by to see the chickens. Funny how many people walked by in the first few months and would come to the front door and tell us our chickens were "loose" in the yard! It was nice of them to stop and let us know but it was an almost daily occurrence...
It was also surprising how many people in the area that had chickens and we never knew until we brought up the fact that we had some. So I guess there are a lot of stealth chicken owners out there!
Great to see some other Kentucky members on here. Nolin is a beautiful area.
! Welcome to the poultry lifestyle...there's no turning back now!! I did a double take when I saw your avatar...it looked a lot like a pic I posted a year or so ago when I needed help identifying the gender of some of my birds. Looks like a great set up you have there! Good luck to you!!
