Hello,
I had chickens as a child, yet can’t really call it ‘chicken raising’ experience. I got 7 Rhode Island Red chicks during this pandemic since I am working from home, and 3 of the 7 are now laying eggs. I am so attached that I couldn’t eat their first eggs…I know, I know. The whole experience has been so enjoyable and endearing, I wish I had gotten them years ago. My 6 year-old dog, April, has also enjoyed having them around. My children nicknamed the coop as the "Cluster Cluck" so I am the Cluster Cluck Mom.

Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
