It’s been awhile since I’ve been here! I only have 6 girls right now, but we are soon moving to a larger space and I have 15 coming including a rooster, which I am so excited to finally be able to have!
Here’s some pics of our first chicken home and the ladies.

We have such a vibrant community here at BYC... tons of active friendly members. Of course, life gets busy, so I was thinking it would be fun to start a thread welcoming some of our peeps we haven't heard from in a while.

If that's you, come say hello and let us know what you've been up to. :)

(if that's not you, feel free to invite peeps you haven't seen in a while and say hi to those that post here)
Oh it's been busy growing our family and focusing on various life things. The chickens are pretty simple, though we're happy to have welcomed 4 new girls into the flock! Our daughter named them: Little Belle, Snow White, Cinderella, and Rapunzel. She loves Little Belle the most. She's a prairie bluebell, and.so is Rapunzel. The other two are green queens! We primarily keep Australorps, but we wanted a little color variety in our eggs. They're 10 and 15 weeks old, so they are yet to lay. We have one polish that our toddler is an expert at catching. When a chicken can't see you coming, it helps 😅

Hey y'all!! I'm still here! We've been good still have our birds from 2020! Everyone is healthy and doing well and we've added some goats in the mix! They're all a huge family! Thanks for checking in! I'm still here and come to read when I need to and still keep tabs on what to do for certain emergencies just in case I should come across something in the future! I still love the BYC community! ❤️

Hi all, hope everyone is happy and well. My little brood is thriving, thank you. We lost our old dark Brahma bantam cockerel earlier this year - heartbreaking as he was hatched at home 9 years ago and much loved by us all. My young Barnevelder cockerel (hatched under 2 broody hens, that's another story!) last summer has now taken over caring for our 10 hens. Sorry I haven't posted for a while, I do pop in to have a read now and then. Here's Wednesday, my Barnie boy ❤️ he's an absolute sweetheart.

Well, we've come a long ways from dipping our toes in the water with a few hens. We moved to a rural location with a few acres and now we have 30 chickens, 7 rabbits, 2 pregnant goats, and a dozen duck eggs in the incubator:)
