Haven't had any chicken action for awhile, as I take care of chickens, ducks, etc. only when I am housesitting! Have fun, y'all, and if you need a hen-sitter, let me know!

Thanks for reaching out. We still keep our Old English Game chickens and Guinea Fowl. We have had some huge heart-breaks in losing our gorgeous 8yr. old Roo (Justice) and our Corgi dog this year. I will share the cause so perhaps someone else can avoid similar heartache. We have such a vibrant community here at BYC... tons of active friendly members. Of course, life gets busy, so I was thinking it would be fun to start a thread welcoming some of our peeps we haven't heard from in a while.
If that's you, come say hello and let us know what you've been up to.
(if that's not you, feel free to invite peeps you haven't seen in a while and say hi to those that post here)
Wish we lived close enough to buy some of your beautiful pied guineas! We've been busy. We moved our farm from MI to KY almost 2 years ago. Life is much better in the South!!
Our farm is expanding, hopefully, this summer or fall. We are building a large pole barn to expand our guinea fowl breeding program and get back into Bourbon red turkeys.
For now we are selling funky colored guineas and a few chickens here and there.
Hi. All good here. Now have two rescue chickens, rescued from our neighbours who failed to look after them. They are both moulting right now, just on the start of winter here in Oz. Looking scruffy but hopefully they’ll have new feathers before it gets too cold.We have such a vibrant community here at BYC... tons of active friendly members. So very sorry to hear about the loss of your birds! I know that is devastating! Hope you can create a safe place and start enjoying a flock again!Hi
I'm still here, but up to my eyes in it. We've no birds at the moment 'cos a pine martin decided it was hungry and broke in and killed the lot. Not nice !! We are looking to start again when I have sorted the coop (which I thought was secure).
Buying them in the cell trays are probably the way to go. I tried planting them directly from seed, and I think that's part of the issue. I think the other part is where I placed the buckets they where in...Thank you!
My tomatoes were purchased as young plants in cell trays. They were then transplanted from the trays into the garden.
I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with growing your tomatoes.![]()
Yes, starting with plants that are already established can make a big difference in gardening.Buying them in the cell trays are probably the way to go. Still here and now have three hens and rescue rooster. My last original gal, Whitney, was 6 years old when she went to the roost in the sky last year.We have such a vibrant community here at BYC... tons of active friendly members.
