Checking-In On Peeps - Post Here To Say Hello!

Hi all...
I've been painfully busy and seems bad news has been the theme for 2024.
Both of our dogs passed within 2 months of eachother. My mother was sick... thankfully she's healthy again though changed. Then today I walk out on my porch and bam...roundworms in chicken poop. I just want to clean it up and order treatment but my toddler demanded to investigate it which well was very hard to explain that there was a sick chicken. If it's not been too dry here we are flooding and the temperatures seem to forget the seasons.
I need 2024 to wrap up positively because it's only July and I'm exhausted
I really do not like years like the one you are having!

I hope the rest of the year goes better for you!

We were going to get a puppy this spring but there were some litter issues so we were put on hold for that until December. So I hope the plus for the year is that we will have a puppy. Even though it was going to be 3 dogs..... one is better than none

2024 is going down in my journal as extremely rude
Thank you for the digital hug. I needed it

We have such a vibrant community here at BYC... tons of active friendly members. Of course, life gets busy, so I was thinking it would be fun to start a thread welcoming some of our peeps we haven't heard from in a while.

If that's you, come say hello and let us know what you've been up to. :)

(if that's not you, feel free to invite peeps you haven't seen in a while and say hi to those that post here)
Hi all
Where does the time go?
All good here in Wisconsin, waiting for my new pullets to start laying and enjoying the summer 😊

Consider getting a RESCUE. All the dogs in our family circle are rescues.
This is the latest. I could tell you more of the story,,, but it is a tearjerker.
Sweetest pet ever, and gentle. just over 2 years old now.

we haven't had any chicks this past year so i hadn't been on here. next year, we're hoping to have our backyard back in order again to get more chicks. it'll be nice to get back into the chicks again.

Hello ! I haven't logged in for quite some time. I lost two of my chickens last year. One to a hawk and another one, who had previously seemed healthy died in the night. :( But the rest of my flock is doing well. I have 2 ducks and 11 chickens (one of them I recently rescued from a hard life running around town - she's doing great now! ) It has been a super hot summer here in Nor Cal so I have been doing all I can to keep everyone cool, including installing 3 fans in my chicken coop, placing out water pans for them to stand in and misters to keep their favorite area cooler.

Getting new chickens is definitely something to look forward too!
