cheeping question

I'm avoiding my outdoor chores, don't know why-it's a beautiful day. Anyways, I was wondering something. Alot of people talk about hearing cheeping in the bator. Do they usually cheep while they are inside the egg (before they've pipped), or do you usually hear it after they have pipped? Apparently chore avoidance makes me wonder about the strangest things

I usually hear peeping before & definitely after the chicks hatch!

mine have been hatching this week and i usually hear cheeping before .. and see rocking .. but sometimes i just see rocking .. or just hear cheeping
