My 5 year old son and I have 30 some chickens, 12 turkeys, 6 keets, 3 ducks. They free range with 100 plus cows. Always lookin to add to the flock. We're just startin out learnin about bators and hatchin, we've hatched 3 chicks so far! Happy to be here!! :)

Very Happy to have you here. That is a lot of animals for you and your son to look after. Do you sell eggs and beef cattle?

We don't sell eggs. About a 3rd of the chickens are roos' and most of the others are still young. So not a ton of eggs yet. We do sell some cows but only every few years. Y'all have cow, or sell eggs?

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I've had cattle at times in the past, but none in a while. If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is loads of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock and herd.

Hi, welcome to BYC!

In case you haven't found it yet, there is a section of BYC dedicated to herd animals. You might like to check this part out sometime:

I've never raised cows before (although my granddad was a dairy farmer)...I'm a chicken person. The extra eggs we get go to the neighbors and they are always pleased to get them.

Since you're getting into incubating and hatching, you might find this forum interesting:

Good luck to you with all the animals. Thanks for joining us!
