Cherries with pits OK?

Hey,

There are some cherries in the fridge that are past their yum date. I want to offer them to the hens but am concerned that they'd sawllow them whole and that the pits might be an issue?

Yes they will swallow them whole but it is not an issue. I have never had any poultry get sick from eating cherries whole. Dried cherry leaves on the other hand are toxic.

When I feed my chickens pitted fruits, they usually don't eat the pit.

When I feed my chickens pitted fruits, they usually don't eat the pit.

When I spit out the cherry pits, they all go run to grab and swallow them.
