Bunch 'o pics from today. Guess I was bored in the yard, garden and chicken run.

Trip thru the garden. The sunflowers are finch and bee central.

Fist of Cheryl's Zinnias have opened.

Not a single ripe tomato yet but the plants are loaded.

Many years ago we had impatient baskets on the front of the house where we do ferns now. Ever since then we get a sea of volunteer impatiens in the rock garden. They are going to be pretty awesome this year.

These Bougainvillea on the back of our house are loving the summer heat and sunshine.

We had my Mom over this afternoon to hang out with the chickens. She had big fun feeding them. So cool that she enjoys them so much.

The ever so social Edith. She is by far the one that loves to be with people the most. So funny that every time you sit down anywhere she's right there with you. She especially loves Cheryl but hey, who wouldn't? :)

Which ones are the ones from your mom's brooder? Do you think they remember her?

The social butterfly Edith is the one from Mom's brooder. The other one turned out to be a cockerel. Not sure that she remembers Mom. I did pick her up and let Mom pet her and see up close how gorgeous her feathers are. Edith just coos when you pet her. It's so cute.

One thing we had hoped for and planned for was that the coop and run would eventually blend into the garden and the existing vibe of the property in general. As the garden has grown and we've put the finishing touches on the coop and run I think we are well on the way to exactly that. Even though it's brand new it looks like it's always been there. :)

You've come a long way, baby!
