I made baking powder biscuits last night.
Made them to go with the chicken soup I made.
Clabber girl baking powder is the recipe.
2 cups flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk
1 tbsp butter

Add dry ingredients and shortening to bowl, cut the shortening in.
Create a well in the dry add milk and mix.
Says to add small amounts of flour till the dough pulls away.
Bake at 475 11 to 14 minutes.

I realize this is not healthy, but I needed a coping mechanism.

I made myself an Elvis sandwich. Peanut butter, bacon, and banana, toasted.

The reason I need a coping mechanism? It looks like my grandma has less than three months to live.

There's a lot of other stuff less healthy, so enjoy it.
Sorry about your Grandmother 🙏🏼😞 getting old isn't for sissies.

Thank you. To be honest, you got me thinking about the nutrition value. I’m bored and having high anxiety about my grandma, so I went through all the nutrition facts of the ingredients in an attempt to distract, and came up with this.

Total nutrition facts of my Elvis sandwich:

570 cal
60 cal from fat
23g fat
6g saturated fat
15mg cholesterol
800 mg sodium
77g carbs
15g protein
8 g fiber
24g sugar

And that’s excluding the bacon grease to fry it in.
