I used similar system with a 1/2" pvc frame with vinyl covering......used larger (3/4?) pvc, cut in short pieces(~2") for clamps cut like that.

Didja try it with a piece of the poly?
That clamp edge can be sharp.

Well...I...um...have now. Works perfect. Poly definitely not going to go anywhere. It's tight!! Per the preppers on YouTube, I'll sand the edges of the PVC a bit to round it over.

And BTW, I got the tape and it's the real deal. That stuff is some kind of tough and sticky. I feel like it would have worked fine but the PVC deal appears that it will be easer and cooler.

Pretty sure that sanding the edges will solve the problem. I think in my case I can snap the PVC on the conduit in a orientation that it will not cause undo presssure on the poly from the cut edges. Was also thinking that I might put a layer of the 4" tape on the poly at the connection points. That would protect the poly for sure as long as I can still get the PVC snapped on. I do want to use the PVC both top and bottom if possible. As usual it's a work in progress.

Got the winter curtains up today. Fairly straightforward procedure since I already had the conduit cut and installed in the clamps on the run. I cut the 1/2" thin wall PVC to length and ripped about 1/3 off the pieces lengthwise on my table saw. I sanded the sawn edges to round them over a bit. Cheryl and I cut the greenhouse poly to width and length and did the installation. Still need to fine tune a bit more to get the poly tight over the entire panel but it's pretty easily done by removing the PVC and pulling out the wrinkles and reinstalling it just ran out of day light today. The PVC is a very snug fit on the 1/2" metal conduit so the poly is super secure. The panels can be easily removed by removing a couple inches of the PVC from one end of the conduit and sliding the conduit out of the clamps. We'll be able to easily remove and roll up the curtains for storage and then just reverse the procedure next year.
