Put all your feed in metal containers or in a sheet metal lined room / storage area and maybe look at setting up a barrel trap like this...
Get a open ended barrel filled about half full of water. Drill 2 holes in the open end lip, opposite each other and stretch a piece of coat hanger wire thru the holes and secure it. Hang a bait tray in the middle of the opening filled with feed and set up a couple ramps from the ground to the rim of the barrel. The rats and mice (even possible coon and opposum) will reach for the bait and fall into the barrel and drown but since there is no poison and is self resetting your birds are safe and you're are not constantly checking, resetting and worrying about it
