Chic Chick 'Bator *UPDATED*

Quote:
Forget all that classical and rock music. There are only two types of music "COUNTRY AND WESTERN". When my hens are in their coop they listen to it 24/7, thank you very much. When we lose power for a few days in the winter and they don't get their music, the eggs production goes way down.

ppppft country and western...come on you cant tell me that deep purple, jimmy hendrix, van halen, aerosmith, guns and roses are not the GREATEST BANDS OF ALL TIME!!

Hahahahaha! I have a radio for the coop, too. I play the local station that plays a mix of country and southern rock. Everyone seems to like it.

We are just waiting for some eggs, panner. She'll get her chance to shine.

Aran, my husband would say Blue Oyster Cult goes on the top of your list.

what size hardwire cloth are you using? the kind I have is too big for the chicks feet. they would fall right through. are You planning on using it as a hatcher as well (thats what I have) If so are you going to put something on the bottome to keep the babies from falling through? Crystal

Ok, since we have our rock and country and western fans expressing their musical tastes, I'm going to express ours. In our homeschool we have studied the great composers and listen to little kids praise and worship music. My son is a drummer, so we also get our share of rock and pop. I'm going to set my CD player by the incubator and play some classical - let's see if my chicks do well! No Barry Manilow, Keith Partridge, Donny Osmond or The Monkeys - though they were my favorites as a kid. Can you tell how old I am?!

Ann

P.S. Maybe we'll have to name our chickens Vivaldi & Mozart! And isn't it funny that two of the greatest women composers we studied where named "Fanny?" Fanny Mendohlson and Fanny Crosby.

Good idea on the names! Maybe panner could name one of his chicks "Country" and the another "Western". lol
