i have a question:
we jus built our first incubator, but i was wondering, does it matter if the light bulb is close to the styrofoam? is it going to melt it or anything?

sytrofoam is the HARDEST thing to work with! lol
actually its too soft, lol..

You need air vents for air flow. Not big ones. The eggs are "living" they need to breathe but like a plant breathes exchaning gases not like we breathe with lungs.

It is a very cheap toy.

Using it with a probe thermometer helps to indicate the temp inside the egg while incubating.
