With the ribbed wire connected to the silver screw I then used a piece of the wire I cut to wire from the brass screw to the thermostat #2 screw, then used the non ribbed wire of the cord to wire it to the #1 thermostat screw. The wire is run through the base screw and then over through the side opening to that everything is sealed shut when the lamp assembly is closed.
I just wanted to clarify something here...
When all the wires are connected, you should have a short ribbed wire that runs from the #2 screw on the thermostat to the brass screw on the lamp head. The short smooth wire accompanying the ribbed wire needs to be connected to screw #1 on the thermostat... but where does the other end connect? The brass screw on the lamp as well?
And then, from the silver screw on the lamp head, you connect the long ribbed wire that is still attached to the plug on the other end. Where does the smooth wire of that get connected? The directions said the brass screw.
Essentially, wires are doubled up on each of the screws on the lamp head?
I'm new to all this. And today we put our eggs in our homemade incubator. we're so proud. But I have two questions...I've spent the last 2 hours looking for the answers and am catching some slack from the rest of the family now.....who would like to be fed.
1. My egg lady had the eggs in her car during church....it was in the high 30s low 40s. Do you think they are still viable? She will bring some more this afternoon if they are not. They were out there for about 2.5/3 hours. (I guess I already goofed-up...I put them straight in the bator, so now they will sweat and clog and all that goes with that
)
2. I'm confused by so many opinions....can I leave them in the cartons with the lid cut off and just tip one end up, then the other? Or do I need to take them out and lay them all down and turn each by hand?
This is supposed to be my 10 yr old's project but look who is worried about it!
Thanks!
The eggs will probly be ok but you wont know till day 7 or so when you candle.
One end of the carton then the other should work ok . just make shure non of the eggs end up to close to the heat source. you dont want to bake them.
Yeah! I just added some eggs to mine, Momma is a white silkie, Daddy is the most handsome blue cochin bantam I've seen. He's such a sweety he's helping to raise the chicks she hatched in her nest. I can't wait to see what these little ones look like.
