When is a young chicken old enough to put in with the grown chickens? Thanks

I usually wait until they are close to laying age (16-20 wks), so that they can be on the same feed. Plus they are close enough in size to protect themselves a bit from being harrassed.

I do the same as Jody.....I wait till they're pretty much the same size.

Yep, about the same size when they have to share the same night coop. They start to free range together as soon as they don't need heat, but I don't recommend that unless you have ALOT of area for the birds and they can stake out their own areas.
