Chick and Duckling Food

Hello,

I’m about to hatch 2 chicks and 2 ducks, and was wondering what kind of feed I should give them. I’m new to all this and need all the help I can get. I’m going to set up my brooder soon too any tips?

Just feed them around 20 percent protein chick starter feed. Ducklings are extremelyyyyyy messy!

Yes, it's just a Niacin boost.

As above - Any decent starter or "all flock" will do, perfectly safe for the chickens. Ducks have greater niacin needs, particularly Pekins, nutritional yeast powder is readily available and a good way to provide that boost. Chicks will simply excrete the excess they intake - and can make use of the extra protein in the yeast. Win/Win (except cost -- cheap walmart nutritional yeast is about $7 for a small bottle, but will get you thru the critical first weeks to two month period.

Get Chick and Duckling feed that is UNMEDICATED. If it says duckling on the package it won't have medication.
