Hello,

I’m about to hatch 2 chicks and 2 ducks, and was wondering what kind of feed I should give them. I’m new to all this and need all the help I can get. I’m going to set up my brooder soon too any tips?

Thank you 😊

A Flock crumble or chick starter will be fine. You may need to add nutritional yeast to the food for the ducks for extra niacin.
Okay perfect 👍 and can the chicks eat from this too even if I mix in the yeast?

As above - Any decent starter or "all flock" will do, perfectly safe for the chickens. Ducks have greater niacin needs, particularly Pekins, nutritional yeast powder is readily available and a good way to provide that boost. Chicks will simply excrete the excess they intake - and can make use of the extra protein in the yeast. Win/Win (except cost -- cheap walmart nutritional yeast is about $7 for a small bottle, but will get you thru the critical first weeks to two month period.

See Sig, below. I've been raising chicks and ducks together since I started.
