chick bath basics?

We put some dirt from our chick's future run in their pen, and they tried to bathe in it. Is there a good container for this? Is there a perferred media for a chick bath? We sure love our little girls!!! Thank you for previous replies,

I am not sure if other people will agree or not but sometimes we'll put a yogurt container lid in the pen and put some sand or dirt they can play in . I don't know if you have very many chicks but we usually only have a few at a time.

I heard using the wood ashes is great for them to bathe in. we use a old planter box to put the ashes in.
