Chick-bator Incubator With Free Quail Eggs

LG styrofoam incubators go for about 20$ on Craigslist all day long.. just search for "incubator" daily and one will pop up eventually.

i know im like a year late on this thread but i just wanted to add my perspectives on BUTTON QUAIL HATCHING. these are the only birds i have hatched not chickens. anyway i made my own styrofoam incubator. it was my first ever incubator no water heater or thermostat. just heat wire with non skid liner on top. some cut up sponges in a container with water. a light on top with a dimmer no wires attatched to the dimmer. and vent holes etc... anyway it cost me like 30 because there were some problems with dimmers not working. the point is that it worked very good got a 9 out of 12. but only 7 out of 12 made it. i did need to spend a lot of time monitoring it but it was well worth it.that was my first ever hatch. my temps i would have to monitor a lot because of fluctuations but it was very simple and worked great. ive seen a lot of people get succesful button quail hatches in the chick bator. yes it is a very simple cheap plastic dome with a light and wire and such inside but it worked. im sure a thermostat would have been good but that and turners are both really uneccesary. incubators are just really simple. we make them not. in fact im getting this incubator soon. AGAIN im talking about button quail eggs. ive not seen any real succesful hatches with the chick bator for chicken eggs. so probably is best for quail eggs. this is my personal opinion and cant be changed. oh and sorry for spelling, grammar, or punctuation errors never been that good at that stuff.
