Hello,
I am a new chicken mamma to 2, 5 week old BO and 2, 6 week old BA. Things have gone relatively smoothly and I have fallen in love with them. One of my BO is super sweet (Rosebud), and always comes to sit with me when I have the kids out for a romp. Sometimes I just take her out to sit with me, and she huddles right into my neck and falls asleep.
Here is the weird thing. After about 10 minutes she starts yawning, over and over, and then starts an alarming chirp, one single chirp, like she is choking. When this happens, I put her back in her brooder and make sure she drinks some water and she's fine. This doesn't deter her from coming and sitting with me the next day.
Does anyone have an idea why she is doing this? My theory is that she gets too hot, or her crop is too full? I wanted to see what your thoughts were.
Many thanks!
