Chick bottom beak; trim or not?

Just a couple days ago, we discovered our three week old dominique (our little Dixie) chick's bottom beak is growing faster than her top beak. She appears to have a chick under-bite. She is trying to still eat, but the starter feed keeps getting lodged under her tongue, dries, and gets stuck there. She isn't able to peck things off of the ground.and her poor little tongue appears like it is hanging off the side too.

I attempted for a few seconds to file it, but she is so little and the bottom beak felt so soft. I wasn't sure if I should file it or not and wanted to get some other opinions. I've seen a lot online about trimming their top beaks, but hardly anything about trimming the bottom. Especially on chicks since she is still growing. But we are scared she isn't eating like she should.

What should we do? Is trimming at this age an option on the bottom?

The beak does need to be trimmed/clipped. I have never had this problem so I will leave any advice to those that know. Good luck.

Try feeding her feed wetted like a mush. Make sure the mush is deep enough for her to get her whole beak into the food without hitting the bottom of the bowl.

Be careful trimming her beak. I think I would file it I stead of clipping it. It will be hard to cut her lower beak without cutting the tip of her tongue off.

She is going to be a special needs chicken without a doubt.

Thank you everyone for your replies. Took her to get the beak trimmed, and turns out I am not crazy. The vet agreed the bottom beak is too soft to be trimmed right now. We're putting her on calcium supplements to hopefully harden up the beak so that it can be filed. Appreciate everyone's tips!!
