Bantams from TSC. Also what would cause two silkies hatched on the same day (Easter) to be two drastically different sizes? They are the last two pics, the silkies were bought from a breeder who only had silkies.

Silkie question, can two hatch mates be really be this different? Could it indicate sex?

golden sebright and the others look like games maybe or japs...the larger one may be a cockerel with the silkies

from what i have read you can tell gender in the first few weeks by their size although i dont go by that because its not accurate to me but silkie cockerels/roos will be larger than pullets/hens

Whenever I hatch silkies there will always be one or two that are considerably smaller than the others... Last year I hatched two silkies together, and just like yours one was about half the size of the other... but they both ended up being roos, so I wouldn't say size is an indicator for gender; at least not now, they are still pretty young.
But hopefully they'll be hens : )

LOL, I plan on keeping them both as long as humanely possible. I kept a roo until my DH found him crowing. so as long as they are quiet and don't crow long I can harbor them for awhile :)
