Well our chicks are hatching! We currently have 4.

One came out with its egg stuck in the membrane of the egg, and its been about 35 minutes and he is still stuck in there. Can I or should I help him out? If so, how? If not, is this normal?? He's the cutest mutt, I want him to make it!!!

ETA: Changed the thread name since now I have a chick who has his BUTT stuck in half of his egg. Its been like this for a few hours. Is this normal???

Yeah, now two are stuck. One has his leg completely entangled in the membrane and is dragging the egg around, and the other is free but has his leg stuck in the remainder of the yolk./umbilical cord.

I have a tiny pair of scissors, should i quickly open it up and cut them free?? One is still wet.

There are still chicks hatching and some of the ones hatched are still wet, should I wait for an hour to open the bator??

So I got the little guy out but he's basically stayed on his back ever since. *shrug*

But now one of the chicks has his butt stuck in half of his egg. He's been like that for about two hours. Is this normal and if not, when do I intervene?

Okay here he is:

Sorry to be asking so many questions, this is my first hatch ever and I have no idea what is normal for chicks hatching. Them being stuck is slightly alarming, and I just don't know whats normal. :S
