Chick cant eat crumble

So my silkie chick that is less than 2 days old is too small to eat the crumble feed. Yes Ik about the yolk feeding the chick and all but soon that wont feed him energy and he needs to eat and he won't be able to eat the crumble what should I do and yes I am already smashing it up with a brick in a bag so he can eat it, when I pour it she doesn't care, but when I pick some up and let it sprinkle down she runs over to eat some then spits it back out. Any ideas?

I blend it in a blender. Do you only have 1 chick. That may be part of the problem. Chickens are flock animals and can fail to thrive if by themselves.

I blend it in that little food ninja blender so it's like a dust for my quail

Maybe put a bit of crumble on a shallow dish (like a jar lid), and add water.
Many chicks seem to like it better that way, and it seems easier for them to eat.

If you speak the food in water for about ten minutes, your chick should be able to eat it.

Actually, in my experience, most chicks prefer moist crumble.

Many chicks seem to like it better that way, and it seems easier for them to eat.

Also seems to help clear up pastey butt faster.
