Chick can't walk

I have a chick a two days old and he/she cannot stand up and walk. The left leg sticks out when he lays down, straight out. Have any of you seen this before and had chicks recover from it? or did you have to cull?

look in search for splayed leg
I had one like this you take a bandaid and wrap one end around one leg and the other around the other leg . just don't wrap to too tight.
this trains the leg to stay in.
Mine is a very healthy yr old now

I have a Serama chick with EXACTLY the same thing. I've been trying the band-aid thing but it's VERY hard to get it on the leg properly as small as this chick is. I'm still trying tho' and I'm determined to do my best. I don't know if there is a posibility of future problems if it doesn't work or only half-way works. I'm keeping it seperate from all the other chicks so it doesn't get any worse. I hope you have good luck with it. Some people advise culling the chick but I'm way to softhearted myself.....

Just put a hobble on it as soon as possible and it will fix in a couple of days

I've had a band-aid on mine for a week and when I changed band-aids last night I checked him out and it doesn't seem much better if any. Is there a possibility it won't work at all? How long do you give it?

I gave mine a week and a half. I couldn't stand to see her suffer and she wasn't getting better. I've heard mixed results so I think it's a personal decision. Sorry you have to make that decision but i know you will do what's best for the chick. Good Luck

Some chicks are just stubborn and may need longer. Is it standing ok with the bandaid on?

My little on had that and I put a band aid (cut in half length wise) and he was fine in about three to four days
