i have a 4 day old chick that can't use his legs, he just falls over frontwards and backwards, he moves around the box just a little, eats a little and drinks when took to bowl, does anyone know how i can help him, it is like his legs can't straighten out.

I had one like that with my last batch of chicks. We kept it quite awhile and finally had to have my brother put it down.It was more cruel to keep it living.I searched and theres really nothing you can do that I know of to help it.

hello, yes this is very sad ive had a few small chicks like this, its got somthing to do with the way it was incubated, maybe even though it was done right perhaps the humidity was off just a little or maybe it was moved too much or too little. sigh ,,, so many things can influence this birth problem.
if you realy want to try...git it 2 weeks at the most, you can offer it mealworms and crickets dipped in a poly aid or gator aid if you dont have an animal rehydrator. then roll them in calcim powder and offer them to the chick. (remove the heads beffore offering) the twitching should stimulate the chicken to eat it. if not you may have to result to crop feeding it calcim disolved in the rehydration solution. also a high protine baby cerial can be crop fed as well. make shore the chick is on a surface it can grip like sand so that it can try to stand up better. also conduct some streaching setions by massaging the feet and leggs genly streaching and flexing. good luck.
