You might look into some save a chick. You can find it in your feed store. It is electrolytes for your new little chicks, gives your babies a boost and will help you if you get one that's health begins to fail.
Wound care cream is another useful thing to have, another thing found in the feed store.
Also I will quick share my last bad experience. I had 25 chicks which I lost because my chicks got wet. I cannot tell you how it happened, I checked on then around noon and they were fine came back that evening and half were dead, soaking wet, everything was wet. The waterer, a regular chick waterer was still upright where I left it. I tried to save the rest, got excellent advice, but ended up loosing all but three.
What I think happened, the chicks kicked their bedding into the waterer the bedding drained into the bedding and then the floor. The chicks got wet and then were unable to get near enough to the lamp to warm back up.
What was recommended to me, and I now always use with little chicks for the first week, is a quail waterer. They are much smaller, with a smaller lip.
