I am not new to chickens, but new to this site. I have no chicks at this time, but looking to get three sweet girls.
I grew up in northern California, but now live in Southeastern Idaho to be near my daughter here. The winters are burr cold and with dry snow. I am wanting to learn what breeds will do well in cold climates with no heat.
I have parakeets, a tortoise, dog, and an old cat. I love birds.

Buff Orpington. My buff is the sweetest, friendliest of the bunch. Big fluffy butt does well in cold weather, though I'm certain your area gets waaaay colder than here in the Seattle area. Good luck and let us know what you choose.
