Hi, I have a chicken that is 2 months old (December 26) and she is shutting her eyes randomly through the day. She keeps both of them closed and walks around and acts perfectly fine. She is eating, drinking , sun bathing, etc. I am just scared if its a disease because I have had 2 chickens die from coccidiosis a month ago and another in December. It usually happens around the cold so thats why I am concerned. She doesn't have anything in hers eyes from what I can see.

most likely not cocciodiosis as that is an intestinal disease. i searched it up. when has she started to do this? if recently, get her to a vet. they'll do this to conserve energy when sick somehow. but when has she started this behaviour?

aah, ok. well i was doing some research and ApPaRenTlY she actually might have coccidiosis. a symptom of that is actually closed, sleepy eyes. Try this: separate her from the rest. keep a close eye on her. Check for symptoms like
  • Weight Loss
  • Ruffled Feathers
  • Closed Sleepy Eyes
  • Loss of Appetite
all of these are from coccidiosis. if these symptoms are present, get come Corid which is in the link below:

Corid is just some medicine to treat coccidiosis. You can also try giving her some water, as dehydration may be a problem as well. and you chicks have had coccidiosis before, so there is a good chance that your chick might have it as well.

I hope your chick gets well. Keep me updated in her/him!

I have Corid powder because I did have a chicken with suspected coccidiosis. Does anybody know the measurements of how much corid I should put into 1 gallon of water?

Are there any other symptoms? If. Ot then I wouldnt be too worried. My girls like to sleep a lot when its cooler outside. I think they just enjoy the weather.

You should put in about 10 oz per gallon of water. Sorry for the late response :/
