Chick Coccidiosis Help!

I mixed a little hard boiled egg yolk with the medicated water and hand fed it to her...she ate more than I thought she would! I also dipped her beak in the water and she drank a few times. I'll go get a syringe from farm supply in the morning, and I'll try the egg yolk again before I go to bed. Hopefully she's better in the morning

Thats great news! Hopefully that will give her some energy while she is trying to get better. I find that the syringe is very helpful when the chick doesn't like the taste or is too weak to drink by herself. But, if possible, it is always better to have her eat/drink on her own. It is not as stressful, and is a good sign of her getting better!

Good morning....June is doing the same, this morning I fed her more egg yolk mixed with some medicated water and she ate some. She won't drink water unless I give her drops on my fingertip so I've been doing that also. She isn't walking around very much, and it's odd but she keeps pecking at her own feet like she can't feel them. My other three chicks stay close by her like they are keeping her warm it's so cute. I've given them some egg yolk also and they love it. Hoping she improves today.

How is she doing so far today? Any improvement? I am hoping so much she is doing better, she is such a sweet looking chick!

This afternoon she is doing a tiny bit better...she's eating when I mix the starter crumble with medicated water and a little yolk. She's standing up to eat now instead of sitting which is awesome! She's also peeping a little, she's been silent so far. Still puffed with tail down but her poop is normal with tiny bits of blood whereas last night it was just blood so that's good too! She is such a sweetie! Fingers crossed! Thanks for checking in

Thats a very good sign. I hope she can continue eating by herself. That means she hasn't given up, she still feels good enough to have a will to live. Hopefully the more she eats, the better she feels and the better she feels, the more she eats. Just keep checking in on her every hour and make sure she is in a stable condition. I think it takes about 5-7 days for it to clear up.

My little chick is doing better...eating good when I mix her starter feed with the corid water and drinking on her own, yay! But tonight I noticed her crop is really full...could she have eaten too much? Is this a sign of something secondary to the coccidiosis? Any advice is appreciated this is my first run with cocci!

Does she have any grit in with her?

I don't have any grit in there with them...the others are only a few days old, her crop is looking normal this morning I think she just finally ate a lot! I quit adding the yolk just in case and I've just been mixing her feed with the corid water, she likes that. Still hand feeding, I haven't seen her eat on her own yet but she did drink some water by herself. She seems a little better today...

Yeah, she could've just filled herself up quickly. I was worried if it didn't get digested and stayed in her crop she may have sour crop. But its good that it cleared itself up. All it takes is getting a tiny bit better every day. Hopefully she will get better slowly but surely!
