I tried looking this up but couldn't quite find the answer.

I just hatched a chick whose mama is a BSL and daddy is an EE. The chick's comb is large compared to the others'. I'm assuming this chick has a single comb and the others have pea combs. Is it typical for single combs to be so large on a new chick?

Well you could have a cockerel- is that what you are referring to? Can you post a picture?

[IMG] A boy - I was afraid you'd say that... I'll post a pic once "she" has dried.

Quote:Oh my goodness- it is so new that it hasn't dried? I would just say that it is a single comb, then.

Too soon to say cockerel from my experience.
