I have four 2 month old silkie chicks and for a while now I suspected they are 2 female and 2 male. The two I think are males have noticeably grown larger than the other two, but only one of them has a comb. They both stand and behave like adolescent roosters, but the one chick hasn't even developed so much as a nub, it has 2 potential fathers and both had large combs that developed about the same time as the current chick (one had a walnut comb and the other has a single comb. I was so sure it was a male chick but I see absolutely no growth development as the other is already getting its wattle. Everything else about them is growing at a healthy rate so I can tell if it's a male or female chick. Is it perchance possible I got a female chick that's growing a little faster?
They did have two different behaviors while I was taking pictures, the one with the comb freaked out nearly the whole time fighting to get away and i had to hold him against me to get some clear pictures, while the no comb one did freak out a little at first but was quick to calm down and i only had to hold my hand over the top of them
