Does anyone have a simple, SIMPLE( I've never done contrition or anything with wood before) design for a sturdy predator and weather proof, mostly rain and wind were I live, chick coop for chicks to big to be in my brooder and to little to go in with my adult hens, that can be built within at most 2 weeks, thanks.

What size is the adult coop?
If it's large enough, you can section off a corner of it and construct an area out of chicken wire stapled to wood framing with small chick doors that can be opened so the littles can come out after being in the coop for a few days. They can then run back in if they get chased by the bigs.

Chicks are big enough to go outside the moment they hatch.
Raising the chicks around the adult chickens will help integrate them into the flock easier.

Actually when I got mine it was too cold outside and I wasn't running 300 yards of extension cords to put a heat lamp in the coop I was using at the time.

No argument on raising them around the other birds.

These work great. No extension cord required.
I was just trying to make the point that babies do not need to be raising inside. This broody took her batch out on day 2.

All fine and dandy if you have a broody mother hen. That seems to be missing from every box of bought or incubator hatched chicks I've ever seen. My chicks came from tractor supply and I didn't have anything other than a heat lamp.

That's asking a lot.

How old are your chicks... and how big is your coop with the adults.
Dimensions and pics of coop would help immensely here.

Yes, IF one has a heat source, either electrical or chicks were hatched by a broody hen....that's a big IF!

How about picking up a rabbit hutch kit and altering it to serve as a brooder? Not quite "build your own" but does need to be put together, and for a small group of chicks it should be big enough.

I suggested a hutch because my brooder is very similar in design to some hutch kits, but it'd be difficult for someone without experience to try and build a replica from scratch. And it works fine through wind and rain if I set up for it.
