Okay so I have hatched a few batches of eggs and never had this problem before. I also use a very small incubator and hatch out very small batches with usually a pretty good healthy chick rate. This particular chick presented on day 19 with an external pip, later that day a different egg pipped and zipped and was removed from incubator, nothing from the first egg but i could hear it chirping and see movement. 48 hours after external pip i checked the egg for shrink wrapping and saw a slight bit but the other side of the shell had cracked so i cracked it a little more and wet shrink wrapped looking area and increased humidity in incubator for moisture. Last night the chick broke free of its egg and appeared mostly normal but this morning I noticed the chick was not fully dry, i opened incubator to remove extra humidity sponge and dry chick off a bit at same time and there was yellow goop all over inside of incubator and the chicks umbilicus doesnt appear fully absorbed...yesterday was day 22...I dont know what to do or if this chick will survive or what i can do to help it. The batch was only 3 eggs and the last remaining one although it appears viable, is at day 23 now...Anybody have any advice? Both the chick that hatched at 19 days perfectly fine and the one that has done nothing are americauna eggs so hard to see much with candling, but i do see blood vessels still clear and active in remaining egg although no internal pip...I'm sorry, I know this is all over the place but if you can understand it and offer any advice...Please help?!?
