Chick Diarrhea

New momma here.. What do you do about diarrhea in a chick? They are all 2 weeks old. Only one is having this. No blood in stool. They have been given Corid for cocci and Nutri-drench afterwards. They only eat their chick feed and plain water. She is eating, drinking and playing like everyone else. Is there anyway I can help? Thanks.

Is this runny poop for every poop, or only infrequently? There is a type of poop called cecal poop that happens every so often and it's liquidy and stinky, and it's normal.

How long and at what dosage did you give the Corid? And was it liquid or powder Corid?

It is not every poop. It is here and there. I treated them with CORID powder for 5 days. Have you ever heard of CORID not working? I see no signs of Coccid. They are all eating, drinking and active. I want to say that when I do see it, I notice that I have more of a stinky smell coming from the brooder. I can't tell who is doing it. It could be anywhere from mushy poop and liquid to mostly brown liquid. Does this sound like cecal poop?

Maybe cecal poop, but Corid treatment should be done for longer than most people realize. For the powder, it should be given at a dose of 1.5 teaspoons per gallon for five days. Then, treatment should continue at 1/3 teaspoon per gallon for another 7 to 14 days.

Thank you. I did not know this. I think what I am going to do is get in contact with the company and see what they say. Because when you are on the internet; there is right and wrong ways of doing things and I don't want to cause more harm than good.

I believe you. I was just saying I won't be surprised if I did it wrong. That was how I was told to do it but there have been times when I called a company the instructions would be totally different. Can you give CORID more than once OR is it a one time thing? Not planning to right now since I gave once already with no symptoms as a precaution. But just if something shows up in the future. Thanks for all your help

You can give it again, but if you're not seeing other symptoms like lethargy or being fluffed up, etc, you might want to wait on treating again.
