Hi,
Some colours seem to have significant markings as chicks. Like I've heard the chipmunk stripe used. Does a black dot on top of the head mean anything? What chick down gives evidence of colours it will grow into or genetics?

Thanks for any responses. Everyone seems really helpful and patient even when you don't get things straight away : )

Just a word about Bob Blosl. Bob was a dearly loved Educator
here on BYC who passed a few years back. He is dearly missed by us.
Yo can find his special "Heritage Large Fowl" thread still on BYC
Locked in his memeory and worthy of reading the whole thing.
Every article on Bob's website is specia. Created from years of
experience nd knowledge. Bob was a great advocate of the
Rhode Island Red fowl and teaching all poultry folk how to properly
breed poultry. His article on "The Secret's In The Dam" is very illumitatiing.
