We got three chicks on February 27th, then one more a week later. They are all doing very well, gaining weight quickly and all seem happy and healthy. The largest of them (a buff ameraucana) seems to have some trouble with keeping water in her beak (or at least that's how it seems to me) she doesn't tip her head back as far as the others when she drinks, and she ends up with water all over the feathers on her neck. It doesn't seem to bother her at all, so am I being neurotic to worry about this in a three-week old chick? Will she grow out of it?

Critters often do strange things. I once had a cow that would lap water like a dog. She would never drink it the regular way. Your chick just may be a bit odd. She may or may not grow out of it. My cornish x are all sloppy drinkers and they do ok.
