Ok so I tried hatching eggs again for the 3rd time and so far only lost 3 out of like 10 eggs. Well one chick hatched today (SO cute) and since the temp spiked to like 110,I was cooling off the eggs before they cooked, and I grabbed an EXTREMELY quiet EXTREMELY still chick who pipped.
It pipped RIGHT UNDER the air bubble.
I can't see the nostrils and I think it's dead
Did it drown? Why did this happen?
>,< oh me and my nerves
So I was looking here >> https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching << and it said if they chick is breathing it was fine. Well it TRULY looking like the chick wasn't breathing, so I took off the shell around the air bubble and the chick was fine >,< it started cheeping after I took the shell off. Grr. Well guess I need to wet the membrane every 2 hours
