So I had a RIR hen and a khaki x Rouen duck go broody around the same time this year.
Here’s a few photos that I took today. The chicks hatched 2 days ago and the ducklings hatched 2 weeks ago.
The chicks are all brahama’s. Lemon Pyle, dark and blue buff columbian.
The ducklings are all mix breeds.
The duck eggs were all from my own ducks, the brahma eggs were all shipped except for one which came from my buff Orpington hen.
8/10 Brahma (shipped eggs) hatched under my broody RIR hen and the buff Orpington egg hatched too which is a pretty good hatch rate.
