I’m sorry I don’t know! But I do feel your pain! My chickens give me much joy and some heartache too! Just think..when we have chickens in Heaven, they won’t get sick and die on us anymore!

Most likely got squashed by mom. Probably not much that can be done at this point except keeping her warm and comfy. even if you do manage to save her, she'll have lasting effects. It's better she passes on and has no more suffering. I know its so hard I've lost many an animal and it's very hard. I'm glad you care so much

Last week I had a four day old chick I believe was accidentally squashed by the other chicks. I think they got cold and huddled together under the heat plate. I’m so sorry for you.

I’m so sorry about your chick. We are just getting back into chickens after years of not having them and we’ve had a time. I ordered 20 eggs to be shipped from California to NC. On day 21, only one hatched and it took him about two days to get out. He seemed fine, and suddenly collapsed just short of 24 hours old. He died in my hands. We were all so emotionally invested in that little chick that it was heartbreaking. I truly feel for you, but am so glad the others are okay.

Thank you. It does happen unfortunately. The last time we had chickens I sobbed so much when the first one died, that my husband said he didn’t know if he could take it. Even though it is such a sad thing, I find encouragement in the fact that we can care so much for a little chick. The OP clearly has a tender heart.

4 day old Chick suddenly not able to move it's shoulder and legs. What should I do? It was eating and drinking with the mom and suddenly this happened

Still Breathing. Starts chirping whenever I stop massaging. Should I wait for him to die or just relieve him from the pain?
