So I have two very excited chicks and they knocked all the eggs around. One of those eggs is zipping and the whole shell is cracked. Will it be fine?

I also took a chick out. It couldn’t sleep and it was loud. Was that a bad thing?

Removing a chick at lockdown that's dry and fluffy already (to an appropriately warm brooder, of course) should be fine - you just want to be sure the humidity stays at optimal levels so that the ones that haven't hatched, can. Each time you open the incubator, it loses moisture, so the less you open it at lockdown, the better. I leave chicks (even loud ones) in the incubator unless they're running around and violently knocking eggs all over because their cheeps encourage the chicks still trying to hatch to come out. :jumpy

I’m really stupid. The one I’m talking about is just shell. I’m so sorry. It looked like there was a black chick in there.

I have 4 unhatched eggs in the incubator. I can only see that one is pipped.
