Now an equipment malfunction on the other hand, that's possible. I doubt it, because it's working just fine now, but it's theoretically possible that it experienced a temperature spike for unknown reasons while I was out of the house. My hatcher is one of those cheap foam 'bators, while my actual incubator is a reliable brinsea octagon eco.

I am doing a hatch now, and my Brinsea 28 EX is doing marvelous. I bought a Hova bator Genesis 1588 for extra eggs I had, also highly rated, and it worked perfectly....until it didn't.
The thermostat failed, raised the temperature to 122*, all the while saying everything was fine at the set temp. If I didn't have 2 other thermometers reading differently, and a little bit of experience at what the eggs should feel like at the correct temp vs what they did feel like, I would have never known anything was wrong. All 9 of my Salmon Favorelle eggs got cooked to death.
We're in a brand new house now, with all new appliances. Except for a couple of battery operated ones. all of the clocks in our house now reset automatically when power goes back on after an outage. Haha, like it never even happened.
