Hi all, I have some laying pullets and recently added two younger pullets to the flock. So far so good in the pecking order dept.

Now here's my dilema.....when I had them separated both groups had their own food. Younger girls on grower crumbles, older girls on layer pellets. Now that they have integrated how do I keep the big girls from eating the crumbles and the little girls from eating the layer pellets? Both groups need their own food for specific reasons calcium, protein, etc. The older group is about 25 weeks old and the younger girls are about 14 weeks or so. How would you do it?

When I have a bird or group of birds still on a Grower I want to integrate into an older flock on Layer I feed them all grower, and then provide some calcium source (oyster shell, aragonite) free choice. The young birds are not interested in the calcium, but the older hens are and will eat what they need. Good luck!
