At 7 or 8 weeks what do you feed your chicks? Had very good luck with purina but local places keep raising the price. We have 38 chicks currently that are all feathered so we go through quite a bit of feed.

Allflock, meatbird, grower/finisher, chick starter, feather fixer, hearty hen... basically, whatever's cheapest at the feed store I'm closest to when I realise that I'm out. Brand usually isn't a concern. My chickens free-range, so I tend not to worry about suddenly switching to a new feed.

If it doesn't have calcium in it, has protein of above 14%, and it has a picture of a chicken on the front, then you're golden for young chickens.

Well, I guess I'm no help. I feed my older chicks/pullets Purina non-medicated flock grower. I get it from tractor supply online. I had good success with it. I dunno...Chickens hate change. It may be worth the cost to stick with the same feed just to maintain consistency in the flock, but that's entirely up to you.

You can simply switch to an "all flock" feed. I don't know about yours, but my chickens will eat anything and the switch shouldn't affect them. If they are hungry, they will eat. All flock does not have the high calcium that young chickens do not need, but has the protein they do need. Good luck! :D
