Chick feed smells like citronella

I bought 500lb of chick starter and a bag of it smells like citronella, is this a bad thing??
 
Yes I said 500lbs, I just purchased 27 meat birds and needed chick feed for them.

I figure I am suppose to keep them on it til killing age.
 
Chick starter has always had a "different" smell to me... I would contact where you got it from and get it resolved asap. The longer you wait, means the less they will want to fix the problem
 
why not take back that portion to the feed supplier and ask them for sure. They are the only one that can do anything about it. Citronella I thought is poison so I would be careful and trust your instincts.
