Chick grit ok for adult chickens

I bought chick grit when my chickens were babies. Is it safe for adults to have it too? Is there a difference b/t chick and layer grits? I can't find any info at all.

When they are older feed them Chicken Grit instead of chick grit. Also when they are laying, feed them oyster shell so the egg shells are 'stronger'

My question to you is why can't I finish this bag of Chick grit? Is there something in it that is not good for adults? What is the difference b/t the two.

yeah finish off the bag of chick grit, then switch to Chicken grit, that's what I did. I was just saying don't feed them chick grit for the rest of their life.

I don't have chicken grit and can't get any til tomorrow and the girls (Pullets - were chicks in March) haven't had grit for months because I thought oyster shells were the same thing (UGH) so now I am worried two of them may be sick because of it. I need to get some grit in them today but the only thing I can find locally is chick grit. Will that be okay for them til the adult grit comes tomorrow?

If that is all you can find right now, I would use it. You can always save what they don't use for another year if you get more chicks.

In your ER thread you posted that you ordered grit and it will arrive tomorrow or in a couple of days.

Okay great thanks - I just wasn't sure if it would harm them, like impact them or anything.
