Chick Grit question

The lady at a local pet store gave me two containers of grit today. They are are dated so she cant sell them after that date. She says they are safe to use. Also she gave them to me for the chicks and I am reading on the container that it has calcium as well as phosphorous and salt. If I cant use it for the chick is it okay for the hens?

i wouldent use it calcium is bad for the babys

Sounds like it is meant for adult birds...maybe parakeets or something that size? Chicks need plain chick grit without added calcium. (definitely no added salt, either.)
