How can you tell if they aren’t getting enough grit?

I mixed Chick Grit in with the Start and Grow feed. (1 pound of chick grit to 40 pounds of feed).
I did that till they were 7 weeks, then offered Poultry Grit in a 40 ounce pail. . It's on the right leg of the coop. GC
ETA; I mixed the Chick Grit with the Poultry Grit in the pail.

How do you know it's from grit? My hens production goes up and down all season.

I guess I don't. When my hens slow down laying I give them grit and it usually helps them produce a lot more. But there are times it doesn't help at all.

Grit is a cheap insurance policy for all ages. I offer it to my chicks at two weeks, in a separate dish.
