Hello all!
I have an Asian black chick who is growing way to fast. He just turned 2 months yesterday and he’s been crowing for about 3 weeks. He’s making all the noises a typical mature rooster would make. He even started trying to mount the hens (who are 2 months old and not matured) yesterday. He’s at least twice the size of the other rooster who is the same age as him (the other rooster is an American leghorn mix). We got him from tractor supply. Is this normal for Asian blacks? Is there something wrong with him?

Well ... I doubt that you have amnesia ... and somehow lost track of time, and actually got them the beginning of May, AND the others are runts or bantams ... ;)

I'd say you got one super fast maturing cockrell ... which could be used to help a "meat bird" project, providing he has meat, and is not all bone and feathers ...

The possibilities that go with quick growth could also mean a short life ... :(

Keep us posted on how he does in the future ...

even if he is all bones and feathers the rapid maturing crossed with a slow growth meaty will still make some worthwhile broilers. Also cross him with some decent eggers so the next generation possibly lays sooner which means less feed spent waiting for that first egg.
